Bio

Chad Alan moved to D.C. 10 years ago and opened his own design firm, where his primary focus is on residential projects, although his work has also extended into local restaurants, churches, and even a few private dungeons.

In 2009, Washingtonian magazine named Alan’s work on Washington Redskin Chris Samuels’ Vienna, Va., home as one of the Ten Best. Chad has also completed work at the home of The Washington Post’s Bob Woodward, and he recently submitted designs for Donald Trump’s Virginia residence.

Chad holds three design degrees. Besides interior design, he completed his education in fashion and textile design and earned a Master’s degree in costume and stage design from the renowned College-Conservatory of Music at the University of Cincinnati.

Chad currently resides in the District and pursues a career in fine arts in addition to his interior design work. His art hangs in six galleries. In 2001, The National Endowment for the Arts and Humanities awarded him with The Young Emerging Artist Grant.
