How to Become a Registered Buyer

All design professionals visiting the Design Center must register at the front desk. If you are visiting for the first time, please be sure to bring your business credentials, including a copy of your sales tax I.D. number, your business license, your business card and a photo I.D. in order to obtain a one-time Buyer's Pass. If you will be visiting The Washington Design Center on a regular basis, you need to complete a Buyer's Registration Form for a Mart Card. The Mart Card must be scanned at the front desk during each visit.  By tracking your visits, the WDC can use the data to create reward programs for loyal trade professionals. Please note, the Mart Card does not establish accounts with individual showrooms; these must be created separately. Buyer's registration forms must be completed and signed, returned in person or by mail with an original business card and copies of your tax ID number and business license. Processing takes approximately two weeks and you can pick up your Mart Card at the front desk. These are permanent passes and may be used at all Merchandise Mart Properties. Companies with established Mart Card accounts may request additional cards for new employees by sending a letter, signed by a principal or owner, on company letterhead. If you change companies, a new card must be issued under the new company name, which may require completing an application if the new company was not previously registered.
