The Dining room was inspired by the resurgence of black and white on the fall 2007 fashion runways—Ralph Lauren’s elegant black and white silhouettes in the fall 2007 and his transition in the spring 2008 collection with the addition of bold pattern –again in black and white, reminded of the glamour in the old movies from the 1930's and 1940’s. I love those old movies—with Myrna Loy and William Powell—the sets have a very modern feel—the architecture is classic—and the furniture is a mix of Deco and traditional—and even some Rococo. But always there is a wonderful feeling of comfort and elegance.  That is what I was going for in the Dining room.
