Inspired by Op Art trends in runway fashions by Diane Von Furstenberg, Carolina Herrera, Vera Wang, and Etro, this fashion forward living room created by Susan Gulick Interiors offers a feast for the eyes and a retreat for the soul. Embraced by shimmering walls in a muted lilac color, this sophisticated space is defined by strong lines and simple forms within an artist’s palette of rich neutral tones. Circles dominate the space and tease the senses with illusions of depth from the wire spheres of the wall sconces to the layered circles in the drapery room divider. The graphic ceiling treatment provides a delightful surprise and contrast to the clean lines of the seating group. Furniture was selected with an eye toward classic, contemporary styling, and explores the contrast between straight lines and sensual curves. Quietly dramatic with rich textures of velvet, linen, and faux fur, this room celebrates the artist in all of us.
