Directions & Parking

The Washington Design Center is located at 300 D Street SW. The entrance is under the green awning on the right-hand side of the street. There is a paid, public parking garage at the rear of the building on Virginia Avenue. Check for directions below, or go to www.mapquest.com.

METRO RAIL

Take the Orange or Blue line train to Federal Center SW. The stop is conveniently located underneath the building. Exit onto 3rd Street, turn left onto D and follow the sidewalk to The Washington Design Center entrance at 300 D Street.

Directions from Baltimore

  • Baltimore/Washington Parkway 295 South into the District.
  • Merge onto US-50 W/New York Ave. NE.
  • Take I-395 S toward tunnel.
  • Take the 2nd Street SW exit.
  • Slight Right onto Virginia Ave. SW.
  • Turn Right onto 4th Street SW.

Directions from Virginia

Interstate 95, Capitol Beltway (495) to Route 395:

  • 395 North all the way into Washington, DC.
  • Go over 14th Street bridge.
  • Turn right onto Independence Avenue, follow toward the Capitol.
  • Follow Independence Avenue and turn right onto 4th Street.
  • Go two blocks and turn left onto D Street SW.

From Route 66

  • Follow Route 66 all the way into the city; cross over the Roosevelt Bridge, which becomes Constitution Avenue.
  • Follow Constitution to 14th Street—turn right onto 14th Street.
  • Proceed across the Mall to Independence Avenue.
  • Turn left onto Independence Avenue SW.
  • Follow toward Capitol, turn right onto 4th Street.
  • Proceed south two blocks and turn left onto D Street. The Washington Design Center is located on the block between 4th and 3rd Streets on D Street SW.
