Embassy Room

For most Washingtonians, Embassy Row conjures images of incessant culture and luxury. While exciting days and glamorous nights on the town amid silk and finery are standard fare for the charming residents of this most beautiful neighborhood, this space is intended to be about the people and their undeniable warmth. Details reminiscent of the hand-work and craftsmanship of their own country are meant to welcome and envelop the visitor with a sense of relaxation and the feeling of having gone home.

All fabrics are from Pindler and Pindler, Inc. The main fabric, Tashkent in the Prussian colorway, is a new introduction in Pindler's Newport Mansions, Doris Duke Collection. This fabric was inspired by and adapted from a circa 1880 Suzani embroidery document from Uzbekistan, found in the textiles archives of Doris Duke's Newport Estate, Rough Point.
