Outdoor Week
Outdoor Week 2011 began with a bang. On Monday evening, a panel of landscape architects and interior designers discussed design trends in outdoor spaces. A cocktail party followed in the J. Lambeth showroom, where guests could see new outdoor lines. On Tuesday, Brown Jordan’s Steve Elton began the day with a lecture on performance fabrics. Attendees then retreated to the Brown Jordan by AmericanEye showroom, where they were able to relax in Brown Jordan furniture while enjoying a delicious lunch.
On Wednesday, Kathleen Litchfield of Petro Design/Build gave a presentation packed with gorgeous images that taught the guests how to blend indoor and outdoor design. Directly following Kathleen’s lecture, Century Furniture invited guests to a “lunch-and-learn” where Eric Graham of gave a captivating talk about Century’s outdoor furniture.
The week wrapped up with Designer Erin Paige Pitts and Architect Lee Foster sharing their new website vactionhousereview.com. Lunch was served in the WILLEMSMITHDC showroom, where new products from the Kingsley-Bate outdoor furniture company were brought in especially for the event.
In the afternoon, Schumacher hosted a fabric, fashion and jewelry trunk show featuring the designs of Trina Turk, co-sponsored by Georgetown’s Wink boutique and Charm Georgetown.
