Ones to Watch

The WDC’s Ones to Watch Award recognizes new design talent that is moving to the forefront of the industry. Designers who are nominated repeatedly demonstrate creativity, originality, and overall great design. This year, The WDC’s showrooms nominated more than a dozen designers who are all exceptional in their craft.

The top three Ones to Watch were announced on April 19. Congratulations to these talented young women!

	Samantha Friedman, Samantha Friedman Interior Designs Samantha Friedman Interior Designs, a personalized interior design company, is the culmination of over 9 years of experience serving clients and offering creative solutions to their everyday needs. Her work has been published in Home & Design, Washingtonian, and washingtonpost.com.

	Marika Meyer, Marika Meyer Interiors With each client’s lifestyle and taste in mind, the firm references the architectural integrity of each project to encourage harmony between structure and decoration, artfully mixing classic and transitional elements. Marika's designs have been featured in Home & Design, Northern Virginia magazine, The Washington Post, and Martha Stewart Living Radio.

	Christine Philp, Palindrome Design With just under a decade in the interior design industry, Christine has seen and worked on some of the most amazing homes in the country. During her five years working for the legendary designer Thomas Pheasant, Christine collaborated on world-class projects including homes in Washington, DC, Bel-Air, California and Southampton, New York. She is one of eight designers featured in The Washington Design Center's 2012 DreamHome.
