ABOUT CAPITAL DESIGN
The Capital Design Lecture Series is the WDC’s top design event, featuring monthly lectures with design celebrities, showroom events and luncheons. Mark the third Tuesday in your calendar through June for events that will inspire your designs and peak your imagination.
Highlights this year include a Feb. 21 discussion with Million Dollar Decorator Martyn Lawrence Bullard, who will discuss what it takes to build a fabric collection with Schumacher Creative Director Susan North. DC Modern Luxury Editor in Chief Karen Sommer Shalett will moderate.
Get ready for the outdoors on March 20, when we invite both designers AND consumer to a panel discussion with landscape architects, interior designers, and event planners who will talk about the marvels of outdoor design. The morning lecture will be followed by a CEU event at Donghia with Maya Romanoff, whose wall papers are art in themselves.
On April 17, design diva Charlotte Moss will talk about her work and all the things that inspire it. Her collections can be found at Fabricut and Century. And the June feature is Suzanne Kasler, whose work can be seen through her creative designs for Lee Jofa and Hickory Chair.
