Working Effectively with Legal Counsel from Formation through Expansion of your Design Business
Lori Graham
Every interior design firm needs legal counsel from time to time but many firms delay or avoid retaining counsel all together because the discussions are often complicated, the process unfamiliar and the fees sometimes staggering. Avoiding or delaying retaining counsel, however, can be costly if not ultimately disastrous for a business. In this discussion, interior designer (and former business attorney), Lori Graham, gives tips on how to work effectively and efficiently with lawyers to help you know what questions to ask, identify when legal issues are present and get what you need (and ONLY what you need) from legal counsel at each stage of your business.
Graham, Founder of Lori Graham Design, a Washington, D.C.-based interior design firm with clients nationwide, combines a head for business with a flair for design. Her projects have been recognized in both local and national publications. Most recently, Metropolitan Home featured Graham’s work on the cover of their “Who’s Next” issue in October 2007.
Following the lecture, please join us for a luncheon in the Christopher London Showroom, Suite 303.
